Western North Carolina Fundraiser October 20

Franklin County's State Representative Matthew Winslow (District 7) recently wrote about his latest trip to our western counties. 

"Frankly," he wrote, "it was nothing short of devastation and desolation... of businesses built on blood, sweat, and tears simply washed away, of trees still standing, but not the home they'd built, of mountain sides gone, and of families grieving for loved ones they'd never see this side of Heaven again.

"But there was also hope, in the bravery, the strength, and the determination of the people of Appalachia. I won't forget our neighbors in Western North Carolina. I will continue to advocate for them in the General Assembly, along with my colleagues who live in the 25 counties that were impacted by Hurricane Helene.

"We've already started by unanimously voting to pass an *initial* funding of $273M, and we will meet again on October 24th for more relief.

"Thank you for your continued prayers, donations, and support of our neighbors in Western North Carolina. God Bless NC and God Bless America."

Representative Winslow will join the Franklin County Sheriff's Department and Bud's Tavern to host a benefit concert for hurricane victims Sunday, October 20, at Bud's Tavern, 823 Youngsville Blvd. S., Youngsville, NC 27596. We hope to see you there!
