Two Bills Introduced to Help Battle Deed and Title Fraud

Representative Matthew Winslow (District 7, which includes Franklin County) is working on two bills in the North Carolina General Assembly to fight deed and title fraud.

• H360 Homeowner Protection Act, and
• H361 Funds to Fight Deed and Title Fraud.

The Homeowner Protection Act creates additional penalties and expedites deed and title fraud victim relief.  The Funding bill appropriates money to provide antifraud training for county Register of Deeds' employees.
