Representative Matthew Winslow Won't Run in 2026

Representative Matthew Winslow has decided not to run for re-election. He has served as the District 7 Representative (Franklin and Vance Counties) and as House Majority Conference Chair.

His letter thanking all of you is here

Franklin County Republican Party Chairman Ed Strickland noted Representative Winslow's contributions to Franklin and Vance Counties, securing more than $100 million for the District and avidly supporting economic development, broadband expansion, and making public safety a priority for North Carolinians.

Winslow has endorsed Cory Thornton, a Franklin County business owner who acquired Raynor Realty in 2021.

“He’s a Christian, husband, father (of five girls!), and a Marine. As a local business owner, he will serve our district well, and I’m excited to see what he accomplishes once elected to office,” Winslow wrote.
