Call for Poll Workers and Observers

Franklin County Republicans need your help to ensure secure and accurate elections in Franklin County.
There are multiple opportunities to serve:

Poll Workers (Paid Position)
Poll Workers help voters during Early Voting and on Election Day. They receive training from the
Franklin County Board of Elections. These are hired/paid positions ($15/hour and up).

These require the ability to work long shifts.

Poll Observers (Volunteer)
Poll Observers observe the election process to monitor compliance with election laws and
subsequent rules. Poll Observers can point out issues to the Chief Judge but they cannot
intervene. Instead, they report concerns through the appropriate channels. In our case, that’s a
three-step process:
1) We first “call it in” to the Franklin County Republican Party so the Chair and At-Large
Observers can evaluate if any support on a local level is needed;
2) We then report incidents to the NCGOP so the State Republican Party can monitor what’s
happening that they may want to watch in Franklin County and get an attorney involved if they
believe that is necessary; and
3) We report it on a website controlled by the North Carolina Election Integrity Team, which
accumulates incident reports from around the state and explores if we need to ask our
legislators to propose legislation to fix any growing concerns.

Our Franklin County Republican Party Poll Observers are asked to participate in two training
sessions that last about an hour each.

The North Carolina Republican Party has announced virtual Poll Observer Training sessions:

July 30 - 5:30 PM

To Sign Up for Information or Training:

1. Create and log in to your account at gopvolunteer.com/login.

2. Click "Events & Activities."

3. Click the highlighted date on the calendar.

4. Select the event you'd like to attend.

5. Click "Add to RSVP."

Once you've RSVP'd, the meeting link will be sent directly to your email.

After you complete one of the North Carolina GOP trainings, the State NCGOP will work with you and your Franklin County Republican Party to get you assigned to Early Voting or Election Day shifts that best fit your availability.
