Brent Strickland Sworn In as Franklin County Soil and Water Conservation District Supervisor

Brent Strickland will continue to serve as a Franklin County Soil and Water Conservation District Supervisor, thanks to your votes in the 2024 General Election. A farmer, Strickland currently serves as Vice-Chairman of the Franklin County Soil and Water Conservation Board.

Soil and water conservation districts are both state government entities and independent political units. Each district has a five-member Board of Supervisors. Three Supervisors are elected as non-partisan candidates during a regular election. The other two are appointed by the North Carolina Soil and Water Conservation Commission. These five individuals establish local soil and water conservation priorities based on the needs of the district.

The districts work with multiple entities, including landowners and the government, to promote soil health and clean water, support wise conservation plans and combat serious problems that may include soil erosion, flood damage or other conservation issues.

Renewing his oath, Brent Strickland, Franklin County Soil and Water Conservation District Supervisor, has committed to serve another four years.
